This Certificate examines governance responsibilities for Company Secretaries across all organisation types. For those assisting, newly appointed, or aspiring to the role of Company Secretary, this certificate unpacks the essential duties and responsibilities of the role and provides practical guidance and tools for the key functions related to board reporting and boardroom governance. This qualification is designed to support good governance practices for the Company Secretary.

The certificate is interactive – learn from the experiences of the facilitator, from your peers and by examining case studies which will support your post-course application of knowledge in the workplace.

Examine best practice and statutory requirements for board papers, minutes, meetings, and resolutions
Receive practical guidance and tools to assist with board reporting and boardroom governance
Have an extended network of peers in governance roles across sectors.

How is this course delivered:

Attend this Virtual Certificate (via live Zoom Meetings) over 2 weeks (3 afternoons per week) with experienced facilitators and peers. Networking opportunities are provided throughout the course as we put you into groups to work through case studies.

Facilitators are senior governance and risk professionals with executive and/or non-executive experience who have worked across a number of sectors/industries. They will guide you through the course materials and activities.

Over the two weeks, you will complete the 4 core and 2 elective short courses. Courses will be live via Zoom Meetings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons:

There are no prerequisites required for entry to the Certificates, so anyone can study.

an online, 20 question multiple choice exam for each course
a vocational qualification in your chosen area of study
practical knowledge and skills that you can readily apply in the work place

Access to the course materials and exams is available for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Graduation & Membership

If you complete the Certificate and pass the corresponding online exams, you’ll be eligible to apply for Affiliated membership and gain the nationally recognised postnominal GIA(Affiliated).
